After debating and ruminatin' and anticipatin' and pacin' (God, love that Lana Del Ray even if she may be a pumped up/teased/manufactured music-bot for the hipster-masses) I'm finally doing it! Typing my unwarranted opinions on anything and everything.

As for the title, I'm kind of unsettled with it at the moment, but the idea grew from this:

I was always offended by this Cool Britannia/ole chap/boys' club compliment. What about the ladies? There is a false dichotomy sabotaging our bottled water that women can't be smart and well-dressed. Intelligent and free to enjoy the finer [frivolous] things in life. Well-behaved and mousetrap-snap-ready to unleash her knowledge of Plato. And Proust. All the while wearing a Prada skirt, Alaia heels, and cursing like a sailor.

And no, this is not a prelude to a bevy of feministing blog posts. It's my prelude to posts fusing all those parts of life made to be counter-parts when a woman is in between them: fashion and scholarly things. Beauty and politics. Bravo reality tv and C-span [okay kidding bout this one, Bravo always wins]. Critical analysis. Of Vogue articles. Ya catch my Vera Wang perfumed drift?
